Facilities

The Laboratories in the Chemical and Food Engineering Department are catered to our faculty and students who are doing their laboratory experiments in their respective classes and for those intended for research works.  External users may also utilize the Laboratory with the approved consent from the Dean of the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Fine Arts (CEAFA). These laboratory spaces provide a hands-on experience on analytical testing, conducting experiments, and other related research works.

ANALYTICAL LABORATORY
Specific purpose: To apply the principles and theories of gravimetric and volumetric methods of analysis of chemical samples, with an emphasis on acquiring skills in laboratory techniques and accuracy of measurements required to perform chemical analysis.

INSTRUMENTATION LABORATORY
Specific Purpose: To conduct analysis of chemical samples using modern equipment like UV-VIS Spectrophotometer, colony counter, digital microscope and other analytical equipment.

FOOD LABORATORY
Specific Purpose: To perform food analysis, development of new product and sensory evaluation.

UNIT OPERATIONS LABORATORY
Specific Purpose: To apply the principles and theories of unit operations, and be able to perform calculations related to the process problem solving.
